Hypefury dropped X support: what happened and the best alternatives (2026)
If your Hypefury queue for X stopped, nothing is broken on your side. Hypefury no longer supports X. As of August 2026 its own pricing page says so in one line, and its X analytics product BlackMagic shut down on July 1. This guide covers what X users lost, feature by feature, where each of those features lives now, and which alternative fits the reason you actually used Hypefury.
What happened, in order
This wasn't one decision. It was the end of a chain that started when X repriced its API.
- 2023. X ends free API access and prices meaningful data access at enterprise level, around $42,000 a month. Every mid-market Twitter tool's economics change at once. In April–May 2023 Hypefury buys BlackMagic, Tony Dinh's Twitter analytics and CRM tool, for $128,000.
- February 2026. X restricts API-based reply automation. API tools can still post and reply to your own tweets; automated replies inside other people's conversations are gone for all of them. Full story here.
- July 1, 2026. BlackMagic shuts down. Subscriptions are cancelled automatically, refunds are prorated. What its users can do now.
- August 2026. Hypefury's pricing page lists its networks as Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and Mastodon. X is not on the list. The FAQ answers "Does Hypefury support X?" with: "Nope! Hypefury no longer supports 𝕏 :("
So Hypefury is alive, at $6 per channel per month or $19 a month for all channels, but for an X account it does nothing. It is not a bug, a temporary API issue, or something a reconnect fixes.
What X users lost, feature by feature
Hypefury was several tools in one. Replace the ones you used, not the whole bundle.
| Hypefury feature | Status for X | Where it lives now |
|---|---|---|
| Queue & scheduling | Gone | Typefully (free tier, paid from ~$12.50/mo), Buffer ($6/channel), Tweet Hunter |
| Auto-plug (reply to your own viral posts) | Gone | Tweet Hunter offers an equivalent for your own posts. Still allowed for API tools, since it's your post. |
| Evergreen reposting, auto-retweets | Gone | Tweet Hunter (evergreen queue) |
| Analytics (via BlackMagic) | Shut down | X Premium's built-in analytics, Circleboom (from ~$13/mo) |
| AI writing | Never strong | Postwise ($37/mo), Tweet Hunter Grow ($49/mo) |
| Replies in other people's threads | Never had it | Fireply (from $69/mo). No API tool can do this since Feb 2026. |
Prices checked September 2026 from the vendors' pricing pages and current reviews; monthly billing unless noted. They move, so verify before you buy.
The job Hypefury never did, and why it matters more now
Here's the honest framing. A scheduler keeps your existing audience warm. Your posts mostly reach people who already follow you. Recruitment happens somewhere else: in the replies under posts from bigger accounts in your niche, where people who don't follow you see you for the first time.
That was always true. What changed in 2026 is that the API path to automating it closed, which is exactly why scheduler vendors like Hypefury had nothing left to offer on X. Posting alone was never the growth engine, and now it isn't even available from them.
Fireply automates the reply side. You pick the accounts and keywords worth showing up under. It learns your voice from your own posts, watches those conversations, and replies as you within about 60 seconds of a new post, with the reply checked against live data so it isn't guessing at numbers. It uses X's official Contributor permission: no password, revocable in one click, and your own account never runs automation. That is the mechanism that still works after the API changes, and the reason it counts as a Hypefury alternative for growth rather than for scheduling.
Requirements, which will exclude some of you: a verified X account and 50+ followers. Plans are $69, $99 and $129 a month for 20, 35 and 50 replies a day. The trial is 40 replies, no card.
Verdict: if you left Hypefury because it stopped working on X, replace the queue with a scheduler and the growth with Fireply. They don't overlap.

1. Fireply: if you used Hypefury to grow
Not a scheduler. An AI reply agent that engages in your niche's conversations, in your voice, automatically. The only category on this list that recruits new followers rather than serving existing ones. Detailed Fireply vs Hypefury comparison.
Pick it if: growth was the point. Skip it if: you only need a queue, or you don't meet the verified + 50 followers requirement.
2. Typefully: if you used Hypefury to schedule
The cleanest writing and scheduling surface on X, with a free tier and paid plans from about $12.50 a month. Deliberately zero engagement machinery, which is fine: pair it with the tool above. Typefully alternatives, if you need more.
3. Tweet Hunter: if you want auto-plug and evergreen back
The closest feature-for-feature match to the old Hypefury on your own posts: evergreen queue, auto-plug on your own tweets, AI drafts and a CRM. Grow plan $49 a month, 7-day trial. Its automation is API-based, so it inherits the same February 2026 limit: nothing automated in other people's threads. Tweet Hunter alternatives.
4. Buffer: if X is one channel of many
$6 per channel per month, unlimited scheduling, sane analytics. The right pick if you're moving a multi-network queue and X is just one row in it.
5. Postwise: if you want AI drafts in your style
Ghostwriting in your voice from $37 a month. No engagement features. Postwise alternatives.
Quick comparison
| Tool | Replaces Hypefury for… | From | Replies in others' threads |

| Typefully | Writing & scheduling | Free / ~$12.50/mo | None |
| Tweet Hunter | Auto-plug, evergreen, AI, CRM | $49/mo | Own posts only |
| Buffer | Multi-network scheduling | $6/channel | None |
| Postwise | AI ghostwriting | $37/mo | None |
Migration checklist
- Export what's in the queue. Copy scheduled drafts and evergreen posts out of Hypefury before you downgrade; they won't publish to X regardless.
- Downgrade or cancel. If you don't post on Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok or Mastodon, there's nothing left to pay for.
- Pick a scheduler. Typefully if X is your main channel, Buffer if it's one of several. Load the exported posts.
- Replace the growth job. Set up reply automation on the accounts and keywords you want to be seen under. Run the free trial for a week and compare profile visits against the last Hypefury month.
- If you used BlackMagic for analytics or CRM, see the BlackMagic alternatives guide; those features moved to different tools than the scheduling ones.
FAQ
Does Hypefury still support X (Twitter)?
No. As of August 2026 Hypefury's pricing page says "Nope! Hypefury no longer supports 𝕏 :(" and lists Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and Mastodon as its networks. Scheduling, auto-plug, evergreen reposting and auto-retweets are gone for X accounts.
Did Hypefury shut down completely?
No. It still runs for the other networks at $6 per channel or $19 a month for all channels. Only X was removed. BlackMagic, the X analytics tool Hypefury bought in 2023, shut down entirely on July 1, 2026.
What is the best Hypefury alternative for X in 2026?
For scheduling, Typefully or Buffer. For AI writing plus a CRM, Tweet Hunter or Postwise. For growth through replies in other people's conversations, which no API-based tool can automate since February 2026, Fireply.
Is there an alternative to Hypefury's auto-plug?
Tweet Hunter can auto-reply to your own viral posts, which the API still allows. Automated replies in other people's threads are a different job and need the Contributor route, which is what Fireply uses.
Can I keep Hypefury and add Fireply?
Only if you post on the networks Hypefury still supports. For X the practical stack is a scheduler for your own posts plus Fireply for replies; they don't overlap.
