X recommends a header image that is 1500 pixels wide and 500 pixels tall, a 3:1 aspect ratio. Every download from this tool has those dimensions. Banner and header refer to the same image at the top of your profile; your square profile photo is a different image.

A picture with a different aspect ratio cannot both fill the frame and keep all its content without padding, cropping or distortion; this tool offers the first two.

No. X can crop the header differently depending on the screen and browser, and your profile photo covers part of the lower-left area. Keep essential text and faces away from the edges and check the result on your own profile. The optional profile overlay is illustrative and does not guarantee an exact safe area.

Enlarging a small original cannot recover missing detail. Heavy zoom also uses a smaller portion of the source image, which may look softer when enlarged. Start with a larger original and reduce zoom. For graphics or small text, try PNG; for photographs, a high-quality JPG is often a smaller file. X may process the image again after upload.

PNG keeps the rendered pixels without lossy compression and suits illustrations or text. JPG usually makes photographs smaller; use the quality slider to balance detail and file size. Both outputs fill transparent areas with your selected background color. The avatar and profile text in the preview are not exported.

This resizer opens and processes your selected image inside the browser tab. The tool does not send the image to an image-processing server or save it in your account. Refreshing clears the editor. Keep your original file and download the result you want to retain.

Open your profile on X, choose Edit profile, select the camera icon in the header area, and choose your downloaded image. Review any crop adjustment X presents, then save your profile. This tool creates the file; it does not connect to or update your X account.

No. Fit mode adds a solid color around your existing picture. Crop mode uses only the selected part of your picture. The resizer does not invent scenery, remove objects, or add text to the image.
