What’s trending on Twitter?
Twitter trends, now X trends, highlight topics receiving attention in a selected location. This list includes both trending hashtags and phrases. The list follows the ranking returned by the source; it is not a list of the most-used hashtags of all time.
Use the search field to find a topic within the current list. Copy saves the topic text, while selecting its name opens an X search. For a more precise search by date, account or engagement, use our Twitter advanced search builder.
Twitter trends, with a clear update time
The list is a shared four-hour snapshot, not a second-by-second feed. The timestamp shows when Fireply retrieved it, in Eastern Time. An update is requested on the next visit after the snapshot expires, so quiet periods can mean a longer gap between updates.
Trends are supplied by TwtAPI’s location-based X trends service. This is an independent Fireply page, not an official X ranking service. Topics can change quickly, and your personalized X feed may show a different list.
Find a relevant conversation before you post
A trending topic can be a useful starting point for a post or reply. Open it, read the context and check whether it relates to your audience. A hashtag alone does not explain why something is trending, and using one does not guarantee reach.

Twitter trending questions
What is trending on Twitter?
The list above shows the latest available snapshot of ranked Twitter / X topics. Select any topic to open its posts on X. Check the update time before using a topic for a timely post.
How often are Twitter trends updated?
Fireply keeps each successful snapshot for four hours. After that, the next page visit requests an update. Refreshing your browser during those four hours shows the same snapshot. There is no continuous live feed.
Why are these trends different from my X app?
This page uses a location-based list rather than a personalized For You list. Your X app may use a different location or personalized recommendations, and topics can change between the time this snapshot was collected and the time you open X.
Are trending hashtags the same as trending topics?
No. A trend can be a hashtag, a person's name, an event or another phrase. This list includes both hashtags and ordinary topics, in the order supplied by the data source.
Why do some trends have no post count?
The source does not always provide a volume. When it does, we show the supplied estimate. A missing count is not zero. The list follows the source ranking rather than sorting by post counts.
Is this free, and do I need an X account?
Viewing and filtering this list is free and requires no Fireply or X account. Opening a topic takes you to X, where login requirements may apply.
What happens when trends cannot be refreshed?
A previous snapshot can remain visible for up to 24 hours with an Older snapshot notice and its original update time. If there is no recent snapshot, we show an unavailable message instead of inventing trends.
