How to download Twitter videos
Copy the post link
Open the post containing the video on X and copy its link from the share menu or browser address bar. Use the full post link ending in a status ID.
Find the available files
Paste the link above and select Find video. If supported MP4 files are available, each video appears with a preview and quality selector.
Choose a quality and save
Select a version and click Download MP4. Keep the page open while the file is prepared. You can cancel an active download or use Open video for your browser’s own save controls.
Twitter to MP4: save the original video file
The downloader retrieves the MP4 versions associated with a public post. The file comes directly from X’s media servers, without being re-encoded or stored by Fireply. This preserves the supplied video and any audio it contains. We add no watermark.
A tweet URL is the input; an available MP4 attachment is the output. Text-only posts, photos, external video embeds and live streams without an MP4 version cannot be turned into a video by this tool. Animated GIF attachments, when available, are saved as silent MP4 files.
Download Twitter videos in HD when available
The quality picker shows source dimensions when the media URL supplies them, such as 1280 × 720 or 1920 × 1080. Options are ordered by resolution, then bitrate. Portrait videos keep their original proportions. The highest available version is selected first; choose a smaller one if you want a lighter file.
There is no automatic quality upgrade. A post may have 270p, 360p, 720p, 1080p or other versions, and some have only one. Direct in-browser saves have a 100 MB limit. Larger videos can be opened directly and saved using the browser’s controls when supported.
Save X videos on iPhone, Android and desktop
On a phone
Copy the post link from the X app, open this page in your browser and paste it into the field. After selecting Download MP4, check the downloads list or Files app. If a video viewer opens, look for Save, Download or Share. These controls vary by operating system and browser.
On a computer
Paste the post URL, select a quality and download. If a browser extension or network setting blocks the in-page save, select Open video. Where available, use the viewer’s download control or right-click and choose Save video as.
X also offers native downloading for certain videos under its own rules. See X’s video help page for details of that separate feature.
What to try when a video will not download
First, open the original post on X and confirm that the video is still accessible. Check that you pasted a post link rather than a profile or shortened link. If the tool finds no supported file, the source may be restricted or incomplete; this is not proof that the account is deleted.
If a file is found but the save fails, choose a smaller quality or use Open video. Interrupted transfers and files over 100 MB are not saved by the in-page downloader. You can cancel a transfer at any time. Lookups may be cached for one hour, and temporary service limits may require waiting before trying again.
Twitter video downloader questions
Can I download a video inside a quoted post?
Yes. When the data source includes the quoted post’s video, it appears with a link to that source post. You can paste the outer quote-post link. Videos directly attached to the outer post and videos in its quoted post are shown separately.
How do I download a video from Twitter or X?
Open the post with the video, copy its link, paste it into this tool and select Find video. Choose an available quality and select Download MP4. If your browser opens a viewer or blocks the direct download, use Open video and the viewer’s Save or Share controls.
Is this Twitter video downloader free?
Yes. You do not need a Fireply account, an X login or a browser extension. Lookups have shared usage limits and may reuse a result for one hour. The video file downloads directly from X’s media servers to your browser.
Can I download Twitter videos in HD, 1080p or 4K?
Only if that resolution is returned by the source. The quality selector lists the available MP4 versions and shows their dimensions when known. We do not upscale, re-encode or promise a resolution the post does not provide. A smaller version usually uses less data.
Does this work with x.com and mobile.twitter.com links?
Yes. It accepts post links from x.com, twitter.com and their supported www or mobile variants, including links with sharing parameters. A profile URL, shortened t.co link or search URL is not enough: open the post and copy its full status link.
How do I save a Twitter video on iPhone or Android?
Paste the post link in this page using your browser, find the video and select a quality. Tap Download MP4 and check your browser’s downloads or Files app. If the file opens instead, use the video viewer’s Save or Share controls. Available controls and save locations depend on your browser and device.
Can I convert a tweet to MP4?
This tool finds MP4 files already attached to a public post. It does not turn a text-only tweet into a video, convert an external website’s player, or record a live broadcast. If the source offers only a streaming playlist and no supported MP4, a downloadable version may not be available.
Can it download Twitter GIFs or multiple videos?
When the post’s media data includes animated GIFs as MP4, they can be saved here as silent MP4 files, not .gif images. A post with several supported video attachments shows a separate card for each one, with its own quality selector and download button.
Why is a Twitter video not downloading?
The post may be protected, deleted, restricted, unavailable to the data source or missing a supported MP4 file. A lookup limit, expired media link or browser restriction can also prevent a download. Check the original post, try a smaller quality, use Open video, or try again later. We cannot guarantee access to every public post.
Is there a video file-size limit?
The in-browser save button supports files up to 100 MB to limit memory use on phones and computers. If a file is larger, choose a smaller quality or use Open video to save it with your browser’s own controls. The limit is checked during the download even when the source does not provide a file size.
Will the downloaded video have a watermark?
Fireply does not add a watermark or change the video. Any watermark, subtitles or branding already embedded in the source remains. The MP4 is saved as supplied by X’s media server.
Can I download videos from private accounts?
This tool does not sign in to X or unlock protected accounts. It works only with public media the data source can retrieve. Download your own videos or content you have permission to save; being publicly viewable does not grant permission to republish it.
